NEW DELHI: Australian selectors announced that veteran wicketkeeper Matthew Wade will lead the Australian cricket team during the upcoming Twenty20 series against India next month. This decision comes as several senior players, including regular captain Mitchell Marsh, opt to miss the tour.
Marsh will return to Australia after the conclusion of the one-day World Cup in India to prepare for the upcoming Test matches at home. In addition to Marsh, Test and one-day captain Pat Cummins, fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, as well as all-rounder Cameron Green, are also being rested for the T20 series.
