'Matter of time' - Liverpool fans send Jude Bellingham transfer message to FSG

Liverpool fans have been sending a clear message to the club to sign Jude Bellingham this summer.

The Reds have been linked with the Borussia Dortmund midfielder ever since last year, with the 18-year-old seen as one of Europe’s brightest talents. He signed for the Bundesliga club in 2020 in a £25m deal, and is already attracting plenty of attention from elsewhere.

Manchester City, Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid are just some of the other clubs who have been joined by Liverpool in being credited with an interest in Bellingham. However, the ECHO understands that while Liverpool have long been admirers of Bellingham, any talk of a move is premature.

Bellingham was in action for England on Tuesday night, as they faced the Ivory Coast in a friendly at Wembley Stadium. He played the full 90 minutes as the Three Lions won the match 3-0 thanks to goals from Ollie Watkins, Raheem Sterling and Tyrone Mings.

Unsurprisingly, Bellingham’s impressive performance for England has led to plenty of Liverpool fans sending a message to the club about signing the teenager. Reds supporters took to social media to express their thoughts and emotions on the possibility of the Dortmund midfielder moving to Anfield.

Since arriving at Dortmund from Birmingham City nearly two summers ago, Bellingham has gone on to become one of the brightest young talents in the game. He has made 83 appearances for the German club, scoring 10 goals and providing 17 assists.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson recently reserved praise for Bellingham. The Reds skipper highlighted not just the young midfielder’s talent but also his character and maturity at such a young age.

"I don’t like speaking too highly of players, especially when they’re such a young age because everybody else seems to do that pretty quickly. But I’ve been very impressed," Henderson told Sportbible .

"I like the way he plays. I like his personality, which is the most important thing. I like the way he conducts himself. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about him.

"He’s a great lad, a fantastic player and I’m sure he’ll go from strength to strength as he gets older and matures. When I watch him, he plays with such maturity even now. The sky is the limit for him really."

Henderson added: "He’s still very young, he’s doing so well at Dortmund [and] he’s done well whenever he’s played for England. For me, let’s just let him play football. Let him enjoy it because he is such a special talent.

"Yes, he’s got leadership qualities for sure but there’s no need to put that pressure on him right now. Let him grow into the person that he can be on his own. He’s got his feet firmly on the ground [and] has such maturity for a young player.

"I know in my own mind that he’s going to be a top player."
