Celtic have agreed a £1.5million deal for Matt O’Riley and the MK Dons star is heading north for a medical.
The Hoops have been in talks with the League One outfit for the last couple of days and have now agreed a fee for the 21-year-old.
Blackburn and Swansea City were also keen on attacking midfielder O’Riley but Celtic look to be in the driving seat with a medical set for later today.
O’Riley has spoken at length to Ange Postecoglou over the past 24 hours and it now looks like a long-term deal is set to be sealed.
If all goes to plan with the final talks and medical then a deal could be confirmed before their Scottish Cup clash with Alloa Athletic on Saturday.
Postecoglou, however, won’t be taking anything for granted after Riley McGree agreed a deal only to decide to move to Middlesbrough after they came in with a better offer at the last minute.
O’Riley came through the ranks at Fulham before he moved on to MK Dons in January 2020.
It is believed the London club are due a sizeable slice of the transfer fee as part of the sell-on from that move.
