Matt Dee, a former lifeguard on Bondi Rescue, has passed away.
An Instagram post by FTW Revolution, the company he co-founded, confirmed his death.
They stated: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our Matt Dee. "Matt touched the lives of many, he also did amazing work and he will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him."
“Funeral arrangements and details will be shared once they have been finalised.”
The statement continued: “We truly appreciate every kind message, thought and tribute.”
It went on to share support services for mental health charities, sharing: “If Matt’s passing has brought up difficult feelings for you, please know that you don’t have to face them alone. Support is available.”
It added: “Please reach out to someone you trust or one of these services if you need support.”
Dee’s cause of death has not been publicly confirmed.
He became a well-known cast member of the reality series Bondi Rescue – which follows the Waverley council lifeguards as they patrol the shores of Australia’s famous Bondi Beach in Sydney.
The lifeguard appeared on the show between 2008 and 2017.
Some of his former colleagues and co-stars paid tribute to Dee, including former lifeguard Trent Maxwell, who commented “rest easy brother”.
Dee co-founded the clothing and events brand FTW Revolution as a suicide prevention resource for young Australians.
He was also an ambassador for the Suicide Prevention Australia.
His younger sister Rachel Bridger Dee, who had been living with schizophrenia, died aged 30 in December 2009.
Dee’s older brother Jonathan, who had bipolar disorder, had also died aged 34 just months earlier.
