MasterChef: The Professionals is back tonight with a brand new judge and 32 new chefs all hoping to become the 2022 champion. The BBC One programme will return on Wednesday, November 2 with the first round of heats.
Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing and celebrated MasterChef judge, Gregg Wallace, will be joined by new judge Anna Haugh, who is replacing Monica Galetti. The 2022 show, which will air over six weeks, will see the chefs compete in a series of heats, with the aim of making it to that week’s quarter-final.
In each heat, four chefs cook against one another for two quarter-final places. For those who have proven they are cooking at the next level, impressing with a food memory dish, an invention test, a pop-up challenge and more, the semi-finals and finals await.

When does MasterChef: The Professionals 2022 start?
The new series, which marks the 15th season, kicks off on Wednesday, November 2. Viewers can tune into BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 9pm to see the first round of heats.
Fans of the programme will be delighted to know that MasterChef will air three times this week, including Thursday, November 3 at 9pm and on Friday, November 4 at the slightly earlier time of 8pm on the channel.
Who are the MasterChef: The Professionals 2022 judges?
Presiding over the UK’s most revered cooking competition, will be new judge, the acclaimed chef and restaurateur Anna Haugh, Marcus Wareing and Gregg Wallace.
Anna Haugh said: "I'm thrilled to join the MasterChef judging team and meet new chefs on new adventures. I’ll be judging the same way I judge my own chefs in my kitchen - I’ll be firm but fair and my expectations are high. I cannot wait to see what this year’s competition is going to bring.”
Marcus Wareing said: "The hunt for the 2022 champion is on and we’re ready to push these chefs as far as they can go. The sky’s the limit as far as I’m concerned and that trophy is just waiting to be claimed."
Gregg Wallace said: "What a thrill to get these kitchen doors open again and welcome a new generation of professional contenders. I’m ready to be dazzled and ultimately reveal the next incredible cooking talent."
