We're learning more about the suspect in a recent stabbing spree in Massachusetts. 26-year-old Jared Reviza is in custody after allegedly stabbing six people, including four young girls, on Saturday. Fortunately, all victims are expected to survive.
The incident took place at an AMC movie theater in Braintree around 6 p.m. on Saturday. The four young girls, aged between nine and 17, were attacked without warning. According to reports, the suspect approached them from behind while they were seated in the theater, stabbing them before fleeing the scene.
The mother of three of the girls described the chilling moment when the attack occurred. The girls sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at hospitals in the Boston area.
About an hour later, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were stabbed at a McDonald's in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The suspect, Reviza, was arrested 15 minutes after fleeing the McDonald's. He faces multiple assault charges, including assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Prosecutors allege that Reviza arrived at the McDonald's in a black Porsche Macan SUV, similar to the vehicle seen leaving the movie theater. Surveillance footage shows him stabbing the victims through the drive-thru window before entering the restaurant to stab another victim.
Reviza was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday. He has a prior arrest for assault and battery of a family member in April. The investigation is ongoing, but authorities believe the two incidents are related.
State troopers were able to track down Reviza after a chase that ended in a crash. The motive behind the attacks remains unclear, but the community is understandably shaken by these disturbing events.
