Two police officers were injured after a brawl broke out at a wedding where 200 people were said to be in attendance.
North Wales Police were called to a hotel in Wrexham twice on Tuesday night after fighting broke out after 7pm. They had to return at 11pm.
Police had to call for additional resources as two female officers were injured.
Inspector Luke Hughes issued a statement on Facebook saying there was a "significant incident of disorder at a local hotel".
He said they were first called to the scene at about 7.20pm following reports that "a number of people have travelled into the area for a wedding [and] that there is the potential for issues as a result".
He said officers found a large wedding reception was taking place and there were about 200 people present.
Officers were called back shortly after 11pm.
He said police dealt with "sporadic fighting" for more than two hours, which resulted in two officers sustaining injuries.
He said no arrests had been made.
Insp Hughes said: "Officers are inevitably called back to what is now serious disorder at the aforementioned hotel.
"As stated a significant number, circa 200 have travelled into the area to attend a wedding, sadly they do not conduct themselves well.
"There are far too many younger persons present, emotions run high and boil over, and officers attend and deal with sporadic fighting over a period of two hours.
"It necessitates officers from outside the area travelling in to deal with and resolve issues.
"I find it embarrassing that people behave like this, that they can’t conduct themselves appropriately and waste officers' time dealing with this nonsense on a random Tuesday evening.
"Two female officers receive superficial injuries as a result – totally disgraceful behaviour.
"No arrests have been made… yet… but I can assure those in attendance that we are reviewing body-worn video and CCTV. I suspect we will be in touch."
