Door staff from a Valleys nightclub have been caught on film fighting in the street with a group of men they'd previously ejected from the venue.
The mass brawl, shot on one reveller's mobile phone, is thought to have happened at the end of last month. However, it has only just begun circulating on social media.
The shocking 39 second clip shows several door staff from The Arch Bar & Nightclub in Neath clashing with a group of punters, thought to be door staff from another South Wales venue. At one point amidst the scuffle you can see someone apparently being knocked out and hitting their head on the pavement as they fall. A spokesperson for the club alleged the group had been causing trouble and became aggressive after being asked to leave. "They'd started a fight with other customers upstairs in the club and, once outside, attacked a member of our door staff," he claimed. "A first aider on duty went to check the men were okay after the incident and was met with more aggression. The group left the area shortly after the end of the footage shown."
The spokesperson added that the police were radioed via NiteNet - a telephone alert network that links different establishments with local officers - to attend the scene, which was said to have happened on early hours of Sunday, March 27. However, those involved had dispersed by the time they'd arrived.
"We employ door staff to keep members of the public safe inside our venue," said the spokesperson. "Door staff, bar staff and any others employed at the venue are there solely to do a job and any violence aimed at them will not be tolerated.
"We welcome hundreds of customers every week and rarely see any violence. The majority of the time it’s just people enjoying a dance and a drink and respecting others around them."
South Wales Police have been contacted for comment.
