Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry praised Kate Middleton's parenting skills as she attended the Pride Of Britain awards. The baking royalty had nothing but praise for the new Princess of Wales as she spoke about Kate's parenting - and revealed a connection to the royal's mum, Carole Middleton.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Berry, who appeared on TV with Kate and Prince William in 2019, was effusive in her praise.
Mary said: "She was absolutely wonderful and lovely, she is a good baker.
"Her mother is a good baker and she wants to do things well - she does it with a smile and she’s a really good mum.”
The Former Great British Bake Off judge Mary Berry teamed up with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for a special one-off show in 2019.
A Berry Royal Christmas saw Kate test out her skills as the couple spoke about all things cooking with the telly favourite.
One line in particular floored many watching at home as Mary, holding a piping bag filled with cream, jokily asked the Royal: "Do you want to have a squirt on a cake?"
On the show, Kate revealed that her youngest child's first words were "Mary Berry", as she told how Louis was learning to speak using the books on her bookshelf.
She told the TV cook: "One of Louis’ first words was ‘Mary’ because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen.
“And children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books and he would say, ‘That’s Mary Berry’. So he would definitely recognise you if he saw you.”
Mary attended the Pride Of Britain Awards, which are held annually and celebrate the good deeds, heroic behaviour and selfless acts of the general public.
