February’s PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium drop is led by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, with Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and a pair of Monster Hunter Stories RPGs also joining the Extra catalog. The full batch goes live Feb. 17.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the big, premium first-party PlayStation game that usually gets added to the PlayStation Plus catalog a few years after the game’s release. This is exactly the case for Insomniac’s action-adventure, which launched on PS5 on Oct. 20, 2023, and has largely been treated as one of the console’s key exclusives since then. The game also had a strong critical reception at release, which is why this addition to the Extra catalog is likely to boost the subscriber number.
Sony’s February list also includes Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, a modern attempt to bring back a series that has been dormant for more than a decade, and it’s a completely opposite story to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. What was supposed to be a reinvention of the open-world MMO racing format, with a car-collecting focus and faction-style clan wars, ended up being riddled with technical issues, server problems, and an always-online format even for those who only intended to play it in single-player. Coming to PS Plus is a shot at redemption and getting fresh players through the door, even if it’s for free.
Curiously, both Monster Hunter Stories and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin are part of the February lineup. They give subscribers a very different entry point into Capcom’s Monster Hunter world than the mainline games do. Stories are built around turn-based battles and the Riders forming bonds with monsters and fighting alongside them, instead of hunting them. It’s a good fit for PS Plus because it’s mechanically distinct and doesn’t require the same time commitment or willingness to do co-op as the core series.
Beyond the biggest names, Sony is padding the month with variety. Neva and Season: A Letter to the Future are two smaller-scale, yet incredible picks for players who want something more narrative-driven.

Additionally, Sony revealed that Time Crisis and Tekken: Dark Resurrection, a PSP version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, will be joining the Classics catalog in March, available to Premium members.
