Martin Lewis has urged Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak and Boris Johnson to sit down together and make a decision to help families with another expected huge rise in energy bills in the autumn. The money saving expert was speaking on Radio 4's Today programme on Thursday.
Mr Lewis referred to a 'zombie' government that can't make big decisions following the resignation of Mr Johnson and the Tory leadership challenge which is down to the final two of former Chancellor Mr Sunak and Foreign Secretary, Ms Truss. The expected announcement of the next energy price cap change is towards the end of August.
The new PM will be in place from September 5 and will face 'desperate' people worried about soaring fuel bills and the UK will be 'in the mire' over the cost of living crisis. The energy price cap rise will come into force on October 5.
