Martin Lewis shares warning for anyone who has an email address

Martin Lewis has shared a warning on social media, as people in the UK are being "bombarded" with email scams.

It comes as fraudsters continue to use his name, photos and branding online.

The Money Saving Expert founder often reminds people he "does not do ads", and has said on numerous occasion that any promotion using his photo and/or name is "not legit". On Friday, Mr Lewis shared a tweet from a consumer finance campaigner that said a fake website is pretending to be the finance guru.

The website, "MSEOptions.com", features the Money Saving Expert logo, as well as a photo of Mr Lewis. It also features the logos of the Bank of England's Prudential Regulation Authority, and the Financial Conduct Authority.

MSEOptions claims to offer "Martin Lewis' Must Have Fixed Rate Returning Alternative Investments and Savings", and says providers will "Protect Their Customers Up To £85,000".

In his tweet, which was shared by Mr Lewis, Mark Taber said: "WARNING: the UK is being bombarded by SCAM emails from http://mseoptions.com - a @MoneySavingExp @MartinSLewis fake using fake @TheFCA @FSCS & @bankofengland protection claims."

It appears people are being directed to the link via fraudulent emails, meaning anyone who uses the online communication method is at risk.

The website seems to have since been taken down, but it is not the only one of its kind. Mr Lewis has long campaigned for the Government to do more about such scam adverts.

Last month, he reiterated a warning to fans that scammers are using his name and often adding pictures from his appearances on TV.

On Twitter, Mr Lewis said: "Sadly criminals are again hard pushing scams using my face and name, often with pics from TV shows. If you want to check just search on MoneySavingExpert to see if it's something I've actually said, if it's not there, it won't be."
