Martin Lewis out at 'moral hazard' as Brits met with £300 charges

Martin Lewis has described charges on energy before people have actually used any as a "moral hazard".

The Money Saving Expert hit out over standing daily charges, and said they should be reduced. It could mean that people are paying around £300 a year regardless of the prices or what they actually use, reports Wales Online.

He said on Twitter: “The high energy standing (daily) charges are a moral hazard and should be reduced. It is outrageous that people have to pay £300/yr just for the facility of having gas & electricity even if they use none.”
