Martin Lewis Money Show: Live viewers all say the same thing as Grant Shapps says "we are all suffering" thanks to energy costs

As the cost of living crisis continues many people feel that the Government do not understand the struggles many people are facing. These thoughts were echoed when Secretary of State for Energy Grant Shapps appeared on the Martin Lewis Money Show: Live and claimed "we are all suffering".

While talking to money-saving expert Martin Lewis on his ITV1 show the Martin Lewis Money Show: Live, Mr Shapps tried to claim that "we are all suffering" due to the increase in energy bills. Many viewers failed to believe Mr Shapps, who is estimated to have a net worth of over one million pounds, is struggling to pay his bills.

One viewer Tweeted: "Grant Shapps is bloody clueless #MartinLewis" and: "#MartinLewis Grant shapps a multi million pound Muppet cost of living a joke to him". A third said: "Now he’s said ‘We’re all suffering’ so I had to switch off. #MartinLewis" and: "Don't make me laugh, #grantshapps. 'We' are not all suffering. Certain you're not."

A sixth said: "Who is this w**ker on Martin Lewis tonight? Energy chancellor? He doesn't know what he's talking about?"

Others said: "Schapps totally ineffectual tonight only reciting what he thinks people want to hear - nothing will change he’s full of sh**e. #martinlewis" and: "He said we’re all suffering???? F**** oooooooffff".

Earlier in the show, Martin was forced to answer a question about possible price increases for energy bills this April, after Mr Shapps dodged the question, read more on what Martin said, here. Mr Shapps said the answer would be revealed in the Chancellor's budget next week. He first spoke about the help the Government had given to help people with their energy bills during winter, before saying: "I am afraid the an]swer is tomorrow week, Wednesday, you'll get the budget and you will get the answer".
