Marsha Blackburn’s latest campaign stunt backfires online

Tennessee Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn, a gubernatorial candidate, released a new campaign video vowing to "stop Communist China."
In the video, Blackburn crushes fortune cookies and states her intention to protect Tennessee land from Chinese front companies and "hunt down every Communist."
The campaign video concludes with a maneki-neko figurine, which is Japanese, not Chinese, and fortune cookies are also thought to have non-Chinese origins.
Blackburn announced her gubernatorial run last August, closely associating herself with Trump , though he has not endorsed her or her primary challenger.
Known for her conservative views, Blackburn would be the first woman to serve as Tennessee governor if elected, having previously served in the U.S. House and Senate.
