Well did everyone “get what they ordered” I certainly don’t think so. It’s like placing an order for the perfect take away, it arrives and the one thing that completes the meal is missing.
But, as I’m always reminded by the many people on social media “it’s not shopping”... but isn’t it though Karen? Is dating not like shopping?
The build up to the big wedding day is a complete mixed bag of emotions and for the most part doesn’t seem real. Most likely due to the fact you’ve put absolutely zero stress and effort into the planning of the wedding.
You’re literally told 4 weeks prior to getting married and all you have to source is a wedding dress. You literally just have to show up, it never actually feels real until your at the top of the aisle!
I cannot believe it’s been over a whole year since my own MAFS UK wedding and now there is a group of more hopefuls in complete denial thinking they are going to be matched with someone they’ve asked for and it's not an absolute coincidence if it works out.
For me, it always seems like the day of the weddings there are two couples and two weddings that are complete contrast.
One couple is the one viewers have hope for and the other couple are normally the ones people assume will crash and burn.
For instance; Chanita and Jordan – what a wonderful couple, they looked at the wedding. They really complimented each other and so far seem like a good match. Some have even branded them as ‘The next Tayah and Adam’.
Whitney and Duka’s wedding was certainly a difficult watch for everyone. They’ve got to do some serious work to even become friends let alone husband and wife.
I’m sorry to say it but, this is another relationship that is just doomed to fail and I don’t think it can be blamed on Duka being a Gemini.
April and George both are a gorgeous couple. I don’t think George having grown up children should be an issue for April if she doesn’t know if she wants children.
I do not want children, so I would rather meet someone who had already been there and done that.
Finally Thomas and Adrian, who was likened to H from Steps by his hubby, are a match that has the potential to go one of two ways and I just can’t call it at the minute – let’s give it until night 5,6,7,8 as it could all end in Tragedy!
I think it’s the family reactions I love the most. And, I have to say it, the family members have so far been the stars of the show – Adrian’s friend Katie certainly wanted her 5 minutes of fame.
Tom's mum and dad couldn’t pack his bags fast enough. While, Georgie’s dad finding out his bride was miss Great Britain 2020 before he did was hilarious!
Once the wedding day is done, the couples then make their way to the honeymoon suite for their first night together.
I’m not gonna lie, for me I couldn’t wait. The moment in the taxi from the wedding venue to the hotel was the first time I had a moment of peace and could reflect on the day.
It’s hard knowing you’re leaving your friends and family for what could be a very short or a very long few weeks.
The camera crew set up at the suite and await your arrival to film the classic entrance and get your reactions.
Then, from there, you are both finally left alone together. In Whitney’s case, instead of throwing out the roses, she needs to wake up and smell the roses and realise needs to relax and be more open minded about the situation she applied for!
For now, we await the honeymoons and the big question everyone is left wondering is; has April cheated on her husband in a matter of days? Surely not. But, this is Married At First Sight after all, anything is possible.
