Married at First Sight UK aired an emotional conversation between Thomas Hartley and Adrian Sanderson on Tuesday, October 11 which led to them leaving the show ahead of the final commitment ceremonies. After a series of heated arguments with some of the other couples in the E4 social experiment, Thomas concluded that him and Adrian were not in love.
Leaving the dinner table and chatting to each other on the rooftop, Thomas, 31, said: "I’m glad that we have reached the point that we’ve reached but I feel that we have to have a conversation," as he sat down with Adrian to discuss the future of their relationship. It was then that his 37-year-old Mancunian husband replied: "I think I’ve worked my a**e off but I’m not ready to progress to that sexual stage."
As the pair decided that they wouldn't be progressing to the final stage of the experiment, Thomas told Adrian: "Just because we love each other, it doesn’t mean we need to be together," and they both broke down and embraced. Returning to the table, Thomas revealed to the other couples that he and Adrian had decided to "bow out gracefully" from the social experiment.

The emotional moment prompted huge reaction on social media. One person said: "Adrian stay true to yourself and take your time there is no need to hurry #mafsuk," supporting Adrian's attitude to intimacy.
Elsewhere, another person suggested: "It would’ve been better for everyone if Adrian had written ‘leave’ last week … or, second choice, if Thomas hadn’t changed his mind."
A third wrote: "Thomas & Adrian are a terrible match," and a fourth commented: "Whatever way you look at it, Adrian and Thomas have been honest and ended it before the final vows."
