Married at First Sight aired one of its most dramatic moments ever on Wednesday night, when groom George found out new wife April had been intimate with someone else, which she laughed off as 'a dare.'
Since making its debut on Channel 4 a number of years ago, Married at First Sight has been a must-watch show for many viewers. Last year's UK version fired on all cylinders with a bride and groom sharing a kiss behind their actual partners' backs, explosive dinner parties and TV tornado Nikita Jasmine, who was forced to make an early exit.
After filling the MAFS shaped void in their life by binge watching the Australian version, British viewers have been left delighted this week with the new UK series. It's only three nights in, but there have been awkward wedding reception conversations, poolside rows and plenty of tension.
And, after they agreed to give each other 'space,' former Miss Great Britain April and dad-of-four George were at the centre of a cheating scandal, which expert Paul C.Brunson predicted would be 'one of the most talked about in #MAFSUK history,' when discussing Wednesday's show with a fan on Twitter.

The newlyweds appeared to be finding some ground as they went dancing during the day but the mood changed thanks to April 'being intimate' with someone else. The moment wasn't caught by a film crew and it was left to a devastated George to break the news on camera the morning after, saying there'd 'been an incident," before elaborating that he'd 'been cheated on,' and tearfully walking off camera.
He added: "I woke up cold and numb. She'd been intimate with somebody else. It was heartbreaking and a kick in the teeth."
April headed to their hotel room to talk things through, with it becoming apparent that her version of events was that she had kissed another girl as a 'dare' during a game in a hot tub, fully expecting George to enjoy the moment rather than storm off. In a piece to camera she remarked: "Who wouldn't like it? Apparently not! What the hell?"
Speaking to George she said: "I'm sorry if it upset you, I really didn't think any of it. I was nothing." Backtracking, George then replied: "It hurt a bit because I developed feelings for you. I know it wasn't intentional for you to make me feel that way. I'm sorry for storming off."
Viewers at home were torn on what to think, with some describing April as a 'walking red flag,' and others accusing her of 'gaslighting' George, while others felt he had overreacted.
Voicing concerns about April, one tweeted: "April justifying cheating by saying that most men would like seeing two girls kissing has rubbed me the wrong way. Her getting off with someone in a situation where George was not present is not the same as a consensual threesome. He did not consent to the situation." However, taking another stance, another posted: "Blimey, George is way toooo intense! Run April, Run!"
