Married At First Sight matchmaker hit with ‘thousands’ of threats from viewers after recent episode

Married At First Sight UK matchmaker Paul Carrick Brunson has revealed the ugly side of the show’s fanbase as he admitted that he had been subjected to “thousands” of nasty messages following Thursday’s episode.

Some viewers were left displeased by the events that unfolded on the recent episode of the Channel 4 series concerning contestants Matt Murray and Whitney Hughes. The pair shook things up after revealing that they had feelings for one another - despite being married to other people in the experiment.

Following an explosive dinner party scene where the truth was revealed, Matt and Whitney had opted to leave the show with their initial partners Gemma and Duka, but had expressed hope that they would be allowed to re-join as a couple. And the MAFS experts found themselves on the receiving end of a backlash as many viewers took issue with the decision to ultimately allow Matt and Whitney back on the show, The Mirror reports .
