Markus Golden limited; Zach Ertz out in Thursday injury report

The Arizona Cardinals returned to the field Thursday for their second-to-last practice of the week in preparation for their Week 1 home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

With the release of their second injury report, there were changes, both good and bad.

Linebacker Markus Golden returned to practice but tight end Zach Ertz and receiver Rondale Moore, both expected to have a big role on offense this season, were downgraded.

CB Trayvon Mullen Jr. (toe), DE J.J. Watt (calf), TE Zach Ertz (calf)

Mullen and Watt were out for the second day in a row, which makes Mullen’s debut seem unlikely, despite his saying he would likely be able to play. Watt was out for the second straight day as well.

Ertz was downgraded. He was limited on Wednesday, which was a good sign. Not practicing Thursday doesn’t look good.

Limited participation

LB Markus Golden (toe), OL Cody Ford (ankle), WR Rondale Moore (hamstring), OL Justin Pugh (neck), LB Zeke Turner (shoulder), RB Jonathan Ward (shoulder)

Golden’s return was good to see. He was upgraded after not practicing on Wednesday. His toe injury apparently came from an accident in the weight room, which usually means that he had some weights dropped on his toe.

Moore and Ford were new additions. Moore’s hamstring could be serious. He was scheduled for an MRI to determine its severity.

Pugh, Turner and Ward were limited for the second day in a row.

Full participation

LS Aaron Brewer (ankle)

Center Rodney Hudson came off the injury report after getting rest on Wednesday. Brewer was upgraded after being limited Wednesday.

Clark was a new addition to the injury report. So was Kinnard. The rest was the same as Wednesday.
