Marks & Spencer fans have fallen in love with a ‘fabulous’ dress - but many pointed out a key flaw! The Linen Rich V-Neck Midi Slip Dress is available for £45 - and has been highly rated by buyers.
The popular chain described it as ‘A dress that screams summer’ in a post on Facebook - and many agreed. Available in orange and multicoloured anyone wearing it would cut a colourful dash and potentially it might be airy enough to keep cool in a heatwave.
Shoppers who bought the dress have agreed with it rated four and a half stars out of five. SAS2021 said: “Yes, I recommend this. This dress is a lovely colour and flattering to wear. Good weight of material and doesn’t really crease. Only downside - no side pockets.”
Belspark added: “A beautiful cool flowing dress perfect for hot weather - would take you anywhere - smart or casual.” Flossy A added: “Yes, I recommend this. Gorgeous dress can’t wait to wear on holiday. Stylish and comfortable and fabulous colour. Lovely quality linen with lining is cool, hangs well . But some were worried that if the wind got up they would be taking off! Some people were worried that anyone under 7ft tall might have issues with the large dress. Liz Pennington said on Facebook: “Some of their dresses are lovely but unfortunately I am not 7ft tall only 5ft 1.”
Kay Cugini added: “Love the colours and it’s really cute, but at 5’4” I would take off with a good gust of wind! Would love to buy this if there was a short version, so many really lovely long dresses this year but don’t suit me at my height, I look like a kid playing dress up!”
Liz Clements said: “Not for a short gal!! would look quite elegant on a very slim tall woman, sadly it’s a miss from me!” Liz Sherriff said: ”It could be useful if we had to vacate an aircraft in a hurry, it reminds me of one of those squirrel suits, free falling from an aircraft!! Lol.”
On the issue of size some reviewers said that wearing heels was essential. Bev Harris said: “Quality linen dress if a little voluminous. I ordered a size 16 and regular length. It fitted across the back well so I didn’t want to order the size down. I would have ordered the petite length but it was not available in this colour way. I am only 5 ft 1” so I wear it as a maxi with heels. Really summery and I look forward to wearing it with heels or flats.”
