Marks and Spencer shoppers praise 'super warm and comfortable' £16 thermal leggings as Met Office issues snow warning

As the Met Office issues a warning that 'snow risk is set to spread' across the UK, shoppers are looking for ways to keep warm without having to blast the central heating. As a result, many shoppers are looking to retailers like Marks and Spencer, New Look, Matalan and Primark - which all offer thermal clothing that promises to trap in heat and keep you warm without increasing energy bills.

Marks and Spencer's (M&S) thermal range has seen particular praise from shoppers, who have commended how 'warm' and 'comfortable' it is. Last year, Manchester Evening News compared thermal leggings from Marks and Spencer, Primark, and ASDA - and M&S didn't disappoint, coming out as the clear winner.

M&S' Heatgen Plus™ Thermal Brushed Leggings impressed us the most, thanks to their thick fleece-lined inner and comfortable fit. The £16 M&S thermal leggings promise to give 'extra warmth' thanks to their Japanese Heatgen fabric - which has a super-soft brushed inner layer which is designed to ensure you stay extra warm and comfortable on the coldest of days.

M&S' Heatgen Plus™ Thermal Brushed Leggings come in two different colours - black and grey - though the grey variation is currently out of stock. The black pairs are in stock, and come in sizes 6 through to 28.

Marks and Spencer's budget Heatgen Plus™ Thermal Brushed Leggings have recieved hundreds of five-star reviews on the M&S website, with shoppers calling them 'extremely warm' and 'super cosy'.

One five-star reviewer wrote: "Really soft and super warm. Will definitely be buying these again." Another said: "Very warm and comfortable. Bought some last year and got more this year."

A third satisfied M&S shopper said: "Super cosy and warm. Great fit and good quality. Thoroughly recommend." Lovely and warm! Easy to wash! Easy to wear. Very comfortable!"

The MEN's Dianne Bourne was very impressed with M&S' Heatgen leggings (MEN)

Somebody else said: "They are extremely comfortable, fit well and very warm." "Love them!! Just as they are described. Warm and comfortable. Good length as well," wrote somebody else.

Commenting on the length of the leggings, which shoppers say can come up a little long, somebody else said: "Lovely and warm. Comfortable. Only problem is that they are a bit long for me." Agreeing that the leggings can come up a little long, another shopper wrote: "You should have differing lengths - your leggings are always too long for me."

If you do buy M&S' Heatgen Plus™ Thermal Brushed Leggings and find the length a little too long, we recommend buying some hemming web, which can be found for as little as £3 at retailers like Amazon and Sainsbury's. It's a quick and easy fix for items of clothing which are a little too long, without having to pay a tailor.

You can buy the Heatgen Plus™ Thermal Brushed Leggings for £16 on the Marks and Spencer website here. Other alternatives include Sweaty Betty's highly-rated Therma Boost Running Leggings, which have been reduced from £100 to £50, and Matalan's Black Thermal Leggings, which are currently £9.
