Market wrap: ITC, BSE, HCL Tech, Asian Paints top gainers and losers on Nifty and Sensex on Monday

Indian equity markets staged a strong recovery on Monday, supported by softer-than-expected US jobs data and a moderation in crude oil prices, offering some relief to investors assessing the near-term interest rate outlook.

The Nifty 50 ended the session at 22,555.75, gaining 133.80 points, or 0.60%. The Sensex rose 472.77 points, or 0.66%, to settle at 72,382.47.
