West Lothian band Mark Sharp and the Bicycle Thieves have had a heck of a start to 2023.
Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement that they’ll be on tour with Lewis Capaldi, the boys were invited to appear on hit CBBC show Saturday Mash Up before they took to the stage for a headline slot at iconic King Tuts in Glasgow.
They had also announced a fundraising warm-up gig ahead of supporting pal Lewis on the European leg of his world tour which has now sold out.
Frontman Mark Sharp said they can’t wait to get on the road with Lewis and thanked everyone who had bought tickets to their show in Chalmers in Bathgate tomorrow (Friday.)
He said of their very busy day last weekend: “What a day that was - incredible start to finish!
“Big love to CBBC and King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut for having us and to the amazing support acts PG Ciarletta & Ben Walker - absolute pleasure to share the stage with them.
“Special mention to Gigs in Scotland and of course the MS&TBT crew.
“What a team we have and your talent & commitment to this band is greatly appreciated.”
Speaking to the band’s loyal fanbase, Mark continued: “And finally, you lot - wow!
“You sang yer hearts out to every song word for word and made it the most special gig yet!
“We’re so grateful to have you all on our side and it’s just growing and growing each time.
“We go again with a sold out hometown show at Chalmers See you down the front!”
