In her new movie Babylon, Margot Robbie transformed into a party animal and wannabe actress.
The movie, which is being released in the UK on January 20, sees her character Nellie LaRoy take a worrying amount of cocaine during an orgy.
Her character ends up collapsing but all is well in her coke-fuelled haze as she ends up wrestling a rattlesnake.
Nellie was so wild in the move that it exhausted the Australian actress 'physically and emotionally'.
When asked whether she took her character home at night to her husband. Tom Ackerly, 33, Margot explained: " Yeah. She took everything from me.
"She demanded everything, physically and emotionally. By the end of the first week of shooting, I came home and I remember I said to my husband, ‘This is the hardest I’ve ever worked’.”
The movie is set during the time Hollywood started making its transition from silent movies to speaking ones.
Margot explained that it was 'like the wild west' during the era of decadence and debauchery.
"Nellie is an aspiring actress. She’s like a tornado and she’s not going to let anyone stand in her way… like I love her so much. But she’s so exhausting."
Babylon was released in the US right before Christmas in the US and grossed under $15 million at the box office against a production budget of $78 million.
The film, directed by Damien Chazelle, also stars Brad Pitt, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, and Tobey Maguire.
The critical response to three-hour movie, directed by Damien Chazelle, has also been divided, but there has been some good news for the movie, as it received five Golden Globe nominations and at last week's awards ceremony it won Best Original Score for Justin Hurwitz.
It has also received a SAG nomination for best cast in a motion picture, and has collected nine nominations at the Critics Choice Awards, including best picture, directing and actress.
Margot recently admitted that she grabbed an unscripted snog with Brad in the new film.
The actress ad-libbed the kiss but insisted it was the tamest part of the film.
Margot said of the clinch: “That wasn’t in the script, but I thought ‘When else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt?
“I’m just gonna go for it.’ A movie kiss is different to any other kiss.
“I would not want to make the other 20 people I kissed in this movie jealous by rating the Brad kiss.
“It is the least interesting thing that happened in Babylon.”
