Marcus Rashford can equal Javier Hernandez record for Manchester United vs Burnley

Manchester United will be hoping to get back to winning ways on Tuesday night when they face Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League.

Ralf Rangnick's side know that three points are crucial in their bid for a top-four finish this season and they are buoyed by their recent record against the Clarets.

Since losing their first Premier League match against Burnley in August 2009, United have lost just one of their last 14 games against them (W9 D4), a 2-0 home reverse in January 2020.

United will be hoping to assert their dominance from the start of the match, but they have a special weapon on the bench if things aren't going according to plan.

That's because Marcus Rashford has scored more goals as a substitute than any other player in the Premier League this season, with all four of his strikes this term coming from the bench.

He’s scored two of those in his last two Premier League outings, and if he gets another goal from the bench on Tuesday night, he'll equal a club record held by Javier Hernandez.

The Mexican forward is currently the only player in United history to score in three consecutive substitute appearances for the club in the Premier League.

Back in 2012 the fan favourite scored from the bench in away wins against Chelsea and Aston Villa, before coming on as a substitute to net against Queens Park Rangers as well.
