Strikes are set to continue into Spring this year with more industries announcing fresh dates throughout March. NHS staff, railway workers and civil servants will be among those to walk out as the dispute over pay and conditions.
Rishi Sunak’s government insists that the money is not available to grant any salary increases despite the continuously rising cost of living. However, polling suggests that the majority of striking workers can continue to enjoy the support of the public.
Thousands of teachers walked out today (February 28) in the first of three days of regional strikes. A wider national strike is planned for mid March and will see many thousands of teachers and school support staff take to the picket line.
