Marcelo Bielsa's translator Andres Clavijo bids farewell to Leeds United after Argentine's exit

Former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa was sacked on Sunday morning, which prompted an outpouring of emotion and support from the club's fanbase.

The news was upsetting for many supporters, who felt Bielsa had restored pride and dignity to the club.

Departing alongside Bielsa are members of his backroom and analytical staff, including Andres Clavijo.

Clavijo was a first-team performance analyst at Leeds during the Whites' Premier League stint over the past two seasons, but has announced on Instagram that he will also be leaving the club.

The analyst was best known for his role as Marcelo Bielsa's translator during interviews since the Whites were promoted to the top flight.

Unlike Bielsa's first and second seasons at Leeds, Clavijo was retained by the Argentine as his press conference delegate for more than one season, becoming a fond fixture of Bielsa's pre and post-match utterances.

"Thank you for the overwhelming messages of support," Clavijo said on Instagram.

"I am sad to report that I too will be leaving the club alongside Marcelo and the rest of his staff. It has been an incredible 2 years at the club.

"I was treated as one of your own from the first moment, and I am immensely grateful for that. The club and the fans will forever hold a special place in my heart.

"Thank you to all the staff, players, and fans for some unforgettable memories."

Jesse Marsch has been installed as the club's new head coach and is expected to host his first press conference at the helm tomorrow afternoon.
