Marc Jacobs sure knows how to celebrate. This year marks the designer's 40th year in business and Jacobs is commemorating the event in grand fashion. From collaborations with fellow designers and legendary makeup maven Pat McGrath to the brand's quirky yet chic runway show, we hope the party lasts the whole year.
Jacobs' Spring 2024 runway show played with proportions to great effect. Models showed off the label's latest pieces on a runway that was adorned with an oversized metal table and folding chairs. You know, the kind of setup you'd find at most poker games played at home. Models actually had to walk under the table to start their trip down the runway. The hair is almost as big as the table, but there was still enough clearance to make sure models wouldn't hit their hair, er, heads.
The Spring 2024 advertising campaign is a shout-out to four decades of success. The ads feature "beloved" friends of the label, including Dakota Fanning, FKA twigs and Lila Moss. Photographer Juergen Teller shot the stars outside the brand's offices on Spring Street in New York City.
McGrath even joined the party by dropping a special lipstick. Pat McGrath Labs' MatteTrance Lipstick Marc Jacobs Edition comes in graphic packaging making it highly collectible. It's pretty much the perfect red lipstick.
Now it's Anna Sui's turn to honor the occasion. (Which only seems fitting since the designers have been buddies for over 30 years.) The pair collaborated on two must-have items. Sui drew inspiration from "her decades long friendship" to design the offering. There's a green and white varsity jacket decorated with both designers' names, stars and a number on one sleeve. There's also a fun version of Jacobs' signature Snapshot bag. It has caricatures of both Jacobs and Sui along with several stars that expertly coordinate with the aforementioned varsity jacket.

There's definitely more to come as it's clear that Jacobs plans on observing his milestone all year long. After all, the word anniversary is derived from the Latin words for year and turning. We're certainly not complaining, though. So far all of the festivities have been top-notch. Since "friends and collaborators past and present have been invited to re-imagine their favorite piece," we can't wait to see what comes next.
