Marc Guehi praises Crystal Palace’s resilience after Eagles earn hard-fought point against Brighton

Marc Guehi says his Crystal Palace side pride themselves on never giving up, after they battled to a 1-1 draw against Brighton on Saturday.

Palace had just 26 per cent possession at Selhurst Park and scored with their only shot on target after Brighton had missed several good chances.

James Tomkins pounced on a bad error by Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez to equalise, after Palace had been fortunate when Pervis Estupinan had a goal wrongly ruled out after the VAR guidelines were wrongly drawn.

Palace have edged clear of danger after three draws from their past four games and Guehi said: “We’re a club that prides itself on never giving up and keeping on going in every single game, and the team did that again.

“In a tough game against Brighton, the team did really well to just keep going and stick in there. We came up against a really good side. Brighton played some really good stuff, and I’m just proud of the boys that we stuck in and kept going until the end.”

Speaking about Palace’s need to keep the ball better in possession, Guehi said: “It is something that we keep going on about and have to keep working on.”
