Marc Cucurella has happy to have joined 'one of the best clubs in the world' after completing his £62 million deal from Brighton. The Blues are believed to have paid £55 million with another £7 million available in add-ons.
Cucurella has signed a six-year deal and is set to provide competition to Ben Chilwell, while Thomas Tuchel has outlined the strength the Spaniard's versatility will offer. The 24-year-old played on the left flank and on the left as a back three for Brighton, where he won the player of the season award in his solitary term on the south coast.
The Seagulls were reluctant to see the defender leave but cited the player's ambition to play in the Champions League and intention to accelerate his progress into Spain's World Cup squad., in facilitating the move. Cucucrella has admitted the transfer is a big opportunity.
