Marathon system requirements: Minimum and recommended specs

With Marathon‘s release drawing closer, it’s time to check if your PC is ready to explore Tau Ceti IV in Bungie’s new extraction shooter. In an extraction shooter, you put your loot on the line with every run, so good performance is a must to survive.

Below, you can find the official Marathon minimum and recommended PC system requirements.

The system requirements are relatively low for a 2026 release and are similar to those of another recently released extraction shooter, ARC Raiders. Both games require a GTX 1050 Ti graphics card and a 6th-generation Intel Core i5 CPU (or an AMD equivalent) to meet the minimum requirements.

For recommended specifications, Marathon requires an RTX 2060 graphics card and a 10th-generation Intel Core i5 CPU, while ARC Raiders requires an RTX 2070 and a 9th-generation Intel Core i5 CPU. While there are some differences, if you can comfortably play ARC Raiders, you should be able to play Marathon without any issues.

There are some concerns regarding the game’s optimization, though, as players have had mixed experiences in early playtests. Playtests don’t consider the launch polish and fidelity improvements Bungie made for the new release date, so the final performance is still a question.

Minimum requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit (or newer)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (4 GB) or Intel Arc A580 (8 GB, with ReBAR on)
  • DirectX: Version 12

Recommended requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit (or newer)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (8 GB) or Intel Arc A770 (16 GB, with ReBAR on)
  • DirectX: Version 12

If you’re unsure that your PC can run Marathon, there should be an open preview weekend ahead of the game’s launch. This will be the perfect moment for you to test the game’s performance on your specific hardware.
