A season-ending injury to towering prop Taniela Paseka has taken the gloss off Manly's best performance of the season as a Reuben Garrick-inspired Sea Eagles thrashed Canberra 40-12.

Manly coach Anthony Seibold confirmed Paseka had ruptured an achilles tendon after the 197 centimetre Tonga international stumbled into a tackle in the first half at Brookvale Oval on Sunday.
