Meghan Trainor & Mandy Moore Have Spicy New Takes On Ashely Tisdale Mum Group Drama

In proof that “mum group” might become the buzziest term of 2026, two members of Ashley Tisdale’s former clique have weighed in after she *allegedly* tore them to shreds.

Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor were supposedly a part of the group that Tisdale described as “toxic” and “too high school” in an essay heard ‘round the world earlier this month. Now, both of those stars have entered the chat as the fallout continues to unfold.

For her part, Trainor went the meme route, taking to TikTok to convince followers she’s not involved with a viral sound lifted from Stranger Things. “Please you have to believe me,” Trainor mouthed, alongside the caption: “Me still trying to convince everyone I’m not involved in the mum group drama.”

That TikTok came after an earlier one in which Trainor again took to the platform to share her surprise at discovering there was in-fighting within her mum clique.

“Me finding out about the apparent mum group drama,” the singer captioned a clip of her feverishly researching on a computer. Coincidentally enough, the TikTok was soundtracked by Trainor’s song “Still Don’t Care”, so make of that what you will.

Meanwhile, Moore also took to social media to praise Hilary Duff’s husband. If you recall, Duff is also a member of the mum group, and her hubby Matthew Koma this week trolled Tisdale by mimicking her essay and describing her as “tone deaf” and “self obsessed”.

“[Koma] happens to be one of the most talented and generous humans I’m lucky to know,” Moore wrote on her Instagram Stories, just hours after he shared the post mocking Tisdale.

The Tangled star’s praise came after Koma reshared a video of Moore performing at a benefit concert for survivors of last year’s California bushfires — a cause she said Koma was especially involved in.

“He literally gave my family a place to stay one year ago today when we evacuated,” Moore — whose home was lost during the fires — wrote.

It’s not as direct as Trainor’s response, but Moore gushing over Koma so soon after his spoof of Tisdale’s essay feels like a clear message of where she stands amid Toxic Mum Group-gate.

In yet another vague reaction, Moore appeared on the Conversations with Cam podcast to discuss “mourning” her friendships.

“I have found that the people I am closest with in my life right now are people who are kind of at the same chapter of their lives as parents… I’ve had to sort of mourn in a way, not the loss of those friendships, but like how they’ve, they’ve changed.”

The fallout hasn’t stopped there. A bunch of other celebs — including Real Housewives star Crystal Kung Minkoff and Disney alum Christy Carlson Romano gave their two cents earlier this week, before an insider claimed Tisdale’s exit from the group was “a long time coming”.

All of it stems from a searing tell-all Tisdale penned for The Cut. In it, she recalled feeling “frozen out” by an *unnamed* group of mums before eventually cutting ties with them.

Tisdale’s rep later denied the essay was about Duff, Moore and Trainor, but the cat was well and truly out of the bag by that point. Something tells me this won’t be the last update from this story, which has all the makings of a future season of Ryan Murphy’s Feud.
