Ruben Amorim will take charge of Manchester United for the first time in Sunday’s Premier League trip to Ipswich.
The 39-year-old has been putting some of his squad through their paces at the club’s Carrington training base over the international break, having joined from Sporting CP earlier this month.
Amorim is widely expected to continue with the 3-4-3 system upon which he has built his success in Portuguese football, albeit he has already admitted there will be some stylistic differences to his Sporting side.
The United manager has been handed a boost, too. The likes of Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia and Kobbie Mainoo have been in training of late after recent injury problems, although it remains to be seen if any are fit enough to feature here.
Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof will require assessment after suffering knocks over the international break, while Harry Maguire is expected to miss out.
Manuel Ugarte surely stands a good chance of starting in midfield, having worked with Amorim while at Sporting earlier in his career.
Amorim will provide updates on Manchester United team news when he speaks to the media for the first time as Red Devils boss on Friday.
