Danny Murphy has poured doubt over Manchester United's decision to sign Christian Eriksen, if they are serious about catching Liverpool and Manchester City.
The 30-year-old midfield playmaker is a free agent after leaving Brentford at the end of his short-term contract and according to The Athletic's David Ornstein , he has verbally agreed to join the Red Devils on a three year deal. Eriksen still needs to agree the finer points of his contract and undertake a medical before the deal will be complete.
But Match of the Day pundit Murphy, who is a fan of the player, doesn't not see how the capture of Eriksen will move the Old Trafford club and closer to catch Premier League standard-setters Manchester City and Murphy's former club Liverpool.
