Manchester United are to face a 'big battle' for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports.
The Serbian is thought to be heading for a new club away from Italy for the 2022-23 season and has been dubbed the 'natural heir' to Paul Pogba by La Repubblica. Manchester Evening News understands that United are currently preparing for life without the Frenchman, whose contract expires at the end of the campaign.
If the Reds are wishing to sign the 27-year-old Lazio star they will need to see off the competition of PSG. Nicolo Ceccarini via Sport Witness claims that Juventus 'had a look' at the Serie A player but it's believed Milinkovic-Savic's future 'lies abroad'. This decision means that it's now reportedly a two-horse race between United and PSG to sign him.

Elsewhere, United have reportedly joined the race to sign winger Sergio Gomez. Just 21, Gomez has been impressing at Belgian side Anderlecht of late. With five goals and 11 assists in the league, Gomez has been one of Vincent Kompany's star players this season.
TEAMtalk reported earlier in the week that Leeds had shortlisted the left-sided player as a target for the summer. However, La Gazzetta dello Sport believe that the Yorkshire club will face competition if they wish to secure his signature, with United reportedly sending scouts to watch the Spain U21 international.
