Frenkie de Jong and Christian Eriksen are guaranteed to succeed in a Manchester United shirt if Erik ten Hag gets those deals over the line. That is the positive message from former United star Wes Brown as moves to sign the two playmakers continue this summer transfer window.
After nurturing De Jong in his time as Ajax manager, Ten Hag identified the Netherlands international as a priority target following his Old Trafford appointment, as United and Barcelona hope to conclude a deal imminently. Eriksen is also on the radar after his short-term spell at Brentford came to an end.
Brentford have offered Eriksen a contract to extend his stay there, but United too have come calling and the Dane is set to make a decision on those options. De Jong and Eriksen are being pursued after Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard all left United.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Debate, for MUTV, former United man Brown said: "He's [De Jong] a quality player, he will be able to handle the badge. The main thing is can we get it done?
"We don't want to be rushing it, but we have let four midfielders go. We do need players in that area.
"It's as simple as that. I think he would be a quality signing and [Christian] Eriksen as well.
"He's come back to Brentford and you see the quality straight away, his assists, he was setting up a lot of goals. He is a player that quite a few clubs will be after him. Hopefully, I think he'd be a great addition and he'd love it here as well, the fans would love him. I think it would be a very good signing."
