Manchester United players were confident Antony would have an impact on his debut against Arsenal due to his training performances.
The 22-year-old started on the right-hand side and curled in United's opening goal in their 3-1 win to end Arsenal's winning start in the Premier League.
Antony completed his £85.51million transfer to United on deadline day, having arrived in Manchester at the start of last week. He trained individually on Thursday and then completed two sessions with his new teammates.

Diogo Dalot played behind Antony on Sunday and believes the Brazil international is at an advantage as he played under manager Erik ten Hag for two years at Ajax.
"I mean, very good," Dalot said of Antony's performance. "He showed that in just two or three days (of training) that he could come on and make the difference he made today with a beautiful goal, a beautiful team goal. And I think he is one more player to help. We want to build a very good squad this season and with him we are going have more quality.
"He has the advantage of knowing, of course, the way that the manager thinks. He's already adapted to his football side and now he's adapted to his new teammates and I think you could see in the minutes that he played that he showed some character, he showed some desire, which I think - and I'm sure - every fan will love that.
"And obviously, the quality that he has, the mentality that he has, I think he will improve us."
Dalot communicates in Spanish with centre-backs Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, English with midfielder Scott McTominay and Portuguese with Antony. The Portugal international admitted it was easier to develop a rapport with Antony as they share the same mother tongue.
"It makes it easier when you speak because it comes more natural," he added. "But we want to build a relationship between every player on the pitch and not only on the pitch, but every single training.
"We want to keep this coordination between players as much as we can, so whoever is on the pitch we have a good relationship and with Antony or another winger, we have a good connection."
United have recovered superbly from the debacle at Brentford last month, winning their last four games to rise from bottom of the Premier League table to fifth.
Victory over Arsenal marked the first time United have won four consecutive games since April 2021 and Dalot, a regular starter for almost the entire calendar year, is encouraged by their progress.
"This is what we have been working for, to be honest," he explained. "It's a good moment for us, we want to take this as an opportunity to keep it going, to give motivation to everyone at the club, to the fans as well, but we know this is still a process and we want to keep it going.
"I think it comes from the messages the manager passes to us but the main point has been from ourselves. To be at this club you have to fight for it, you have to fight for 90 minutes every single game and this is what we are trying to do, then I think the quality will come up.
"But the basics, the standards of the club, are like this and if we continue to do this for a big period of time I think we will get success. But we know it's a marathon, not a sprint. This is going to be a long season and we need all the little points, the wins to build momentum and today was a beautiful afternoon.
"I feel it's been a good moment, individually, collectively. When collectively you are good, the individuals come afterwards.
"This is what I've been fighting for, to show my level, this is the level I want to keep for a long time. There is still room for improvement, of course, and this is what I aim for every single day: to improve what I need to improve but keep the consistency, keep the level. Because these are the standards of this club."
