Manchester United player Marcus Rashford explains why he doesn't hate Man City

Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford said Liverpool is the only club he hates as he took a softer stance on Manchester City.

The United academy graduate, who scored after stepping off the bench in Friday's 4-1 win over Melbourne Victory in the Reds' second outing of pre-season, made the admission while featuring in a special episode on the Uninterrupted YouTube channel. Rashford was quizzed on a wide-range of topics, including United's rivalry with Liverpool.

The Reds have a steeped and historic rivalry with the Merseysiders, dating back countless decades. They have battled it out over countless trophies and titles down the years and the rivalry has remained just as fierce and heated.

And that is why Rashford has admitted that United's rivalry with Liverpool has forced him to not like the Anfield club. He also admitted that he dislikes them far more than he does Manchester City.

Asked if there are any clubs that he hates, Rashford told Uninterrupted : "Yes. Liverpool. I don't like Liverpool. Obviously Liverpool have history [with United], so it's a bit more bitter. But with City, it's like, you don't like them, but you don't really have a massive reason not to like them. You just grow up, and it's just two Manchester sides. One wears light blue and one wears red. But the rivalry with Liverpool is deep."
