Erik ten Hag believes Raphael Varane's retirement from international is "good news" for Manchester United.

Varane, 29, announced on Thursday he had played his last game for France after attaining 93 caps over the last decade.

The centre-back was a starter in France's World Cup triumph in Russia in 2018 and he lined up in his second World Cup final in the absorbing defeat to Argentina in December.
