Manchester United issue injury update on Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Donny van de Beek

Manchester United will be without Raphael Varane for the Europa League group stage clash with Omonia Nicosia tomorrow after the centre-back failed to recover in time from an ankle injury.

Varane picked up the injury in Sunday's 6-3 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad and wasn't fit enough to train at Carrington on Wednesday morning, with United flying to Cyprus later today.

He joins Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny van de Beek on the treatment table, with the quartet all absent for the European fixture.

Ten Hag is confident Varane will be back in action fairly quickly, confirming the MEN's exclusive, but he will have to wait a little longer for Maguire as he battles a hamstring injury.

The Dutchman was unable to put a date on the return of Wan-Bissaka or Van de Beek. Neither have featured since United beat Liverpool at Old Trafford on August 22.

"They’re not available for tomorrow," Ten Hag said of that quartet.

"Yes [I expect him back soon] in the case of Rapha, we hope, Harry will take a little bit longer, the other two I cannot give a prognosis."
