Ander Herrera is set for an emotional return to Athletic Bilbao in the summer transfer window after agreeing to terminate his contract with Paris Saint-Germain two years early.
The Manchester United favourite only played a minimal role for the French side last season and was told earlier in the summer that he was free to find a new club during the window.
It is understood Herrera, 33, will return to former side Bilbao, the club he spent three successful years at before moving to Old Trafford earlier in his career.

United signed the Spaniard for £28.85million back in the summer of 2014 and he spent five years at the club before he left as a free agent, signing for PSG upon the expiration of his contract.
Herrera was initially insistent that he would see out his final two years in the French capital, but has been frozen out in the French capital as PSG look to urgently offload some of their squad before deadline day.
However, it is understood he is now keen to leave in order to play regularly and will officially leave the Parisian side once a compensation package is agreed to buy him out of his final two years.
In five seasons with United, Herrera proved to be a hugely popular figure amongst fans, making 189 appearances as he helped the club with the FA Cup in 2016, as well as the League Cup and Europa League in 2017.
