Manchester United fans have endured a disappointing start to the new Premier League season - and things may have just gotten a little worse.
There was a wave of optimism as Erik ten Hag stood on the sidelines ahead of his first match in charge of the club. It sadly didn't last long, as United fans inside Old Trafford saw the Reds start their new campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Brighton.
Disappointing performances from both Scott McTominay and Fred in midfield reminded everyone watching why United still desperately need to bolster their options in the middle of the park. One of these options could end up being Adrien Rabiot after the MEN broke the news that United and Juventus have agreed a fee in principle for the player.

However, a striker is also still on the club's shopping list. Christian Eriksen's bizarre appearance playing as a false nine failed to spearhead their attack against Brighton, while Cristiano Ronaldo's cameo off the bench lacked the impact that Ten Hag would have hoped for.
Benjamin Sesko, the highly-rated 19-year-old striker from Red Bull Salzburg, is another player on United's radar, yet it appears that Ten Hag's side have been dealt another blow this summer after reports emerged that the player has now agreed to join RB Leipzig instead.
It was not the news that fans wanted to hear and they took to social media to vent their frustration over the latest update on what has been a trying 24 hours for supporters of the club.
