After being linked with Manchester United in recent days, Adrien Rabiot's proposed move to Manchester United has collapsed .

The French midfielder is currently contracted to Juventus, with the Italian club seemingly happy to let the 27-year-old leave the club. United agreed a £15million fee rising to £20m with Juventus but - as the MEN exclusively reported tonight - sources say he wanted an ‘obscene’ salary.

There appear to be other options, with Real Madrid's Casemiro reportedly emerging as a potential transfer target for Erik ten Hag's Old Trafford project.

The news that the 29-time French international appears to have gone down well, however, with fans reflecting on the failed move and what it could mean going forward.
