Manchester United confirmed players under contract for 2022/23 season

Manchester United’s season has ended in typically disappointing fashion as the club moves into Erik ten Hag’s spell as manager.

United's disastrous campaign came to a conclusion on Sunday with another defeat, this time at Crystal Palace, with the incoming boss watching on from the stands. Despite the loss, United managed to hold on to their Europa League spot thanks to West Ham’s defeat at Brighton.

With their wretched season now complete, the focus can turn to the summer, with Ten Hag facing a huge task as he gets to work at Old Trafford. The former Ajax boss has been urged by some pundits to oversee a major overhaul this summer in order to transform his new club’s fortunes.

As things stand, just six first-team players look set to depart as their contracts expire. Of those six, only two have so far been confirmed as leaving, with Edinson Cavani and Nemanja Matic definitely departing.

The other four out-of-contract players – Lee Grant, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata – are also expected to be on their way out. More could follow them, with doubts over a number of players who remain under contract.
