Manchester United ace Paul Pogba shares Instagram message following house break-in

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has admitted that he is looking forward to getting down to business with the France national team after dealing with the trauma of a break-in at his home last week.

The incident happened at the same time as Pogba and his United teammates looked to keep their Champions League hopes alive against Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford last Tuesday. His children were sleeping in the house at the time of the burglary but, luckily, nobody was hurt.

Nevertheless, it was a traumatic incident for Pogba and his wife to deal with, as, just as the Frenchman said in his statement confirming the incident, it robbed him and his family of their feeling of being safe in their own home. Pogba is not the first United player to have had his home broken into whilst playing, with Victor Lindelof's residence targeted earlier this year.

However, despite the distress such an event can cause, Pogba is relishing getting back to footballing matters. He is part of the France squad that is facing the Ivory Coast and South Africa over this current international break in back-to-back home friendlies.

Posting on Instagram, Pogba said: "So happy to be back with the national team. The last few days obviously haven't been easy after the burglary at my home and the Champions League exit, so it feels great to be reunited with my @equipedefrance family and concentrate on what I love again.

"Allez les Blues!"

France qualified for the World Cup in Qatar without too many struggles, winning Group D by six points ahead of Ukraine. That means that Didier Deschamps' side will use these two friendlies to prepare for the showpiece event later this year, where they will look to defend their World Cup crown.

Pogba, who is set to leave United this summer, has not played for France since the final of the UEFA Nations League in October. He was included in the squad for their November clashes with Kazakhstan and Finland but was forced to pull out because of a hamstring injury he suffered in training.

He recovered from that injury last month and has featured in each of United's last seven Premier League matches. He has earned 89 senior caps for France, scoring 11 goals.
