The UK basked in the sun on the on what was the hottest day of the year so far, with Manchester preparing for warmer weather than the Algarve.
Meteorological Office expect Monday (May 22) will break records following Sunday's high temperatures, that the Met Office said were warmest the UK had seen so far this year.
In Manchester, the clear skies and sunny conditions are set to continue into next week, where it will be warmer than the likes of Portugal, with another scorcher predicted for Monday.

Temperatures are set to hit 20C in Manchester and Rochdale and up to 19C or 18C in other boroughs. Tuesday and Wednesday look only slightly cooler with average temperatures around 16C, but Thursday is set to see temperatures creep back up to 19C in most areas.
In the Algarve, overcast and damp conditions are predicted in Albufeira on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures of around 18C.
A 14-day forecast by the BBC predicts Greater Manchester could see temperatures peaking at as high as 24C next bank holiday Monday (May 29).
Meteorologist Craig Snell stated that the majority of the nation would encounter 'dry and stable conditions' on what is expected to be a 'pleasant' Monday.
Experts predicted the UK could be hit by an extreme weather front dubbed the 'Africa plume' by the end of May, with the Met Office's long-range forecast, which covers the period from Tuesday May 23 to Thursday June 1, stating that high pressure 'will dominate over most of the UK through the first half of this period'.
