Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:40The full-time whistle blows to spark wild celebrations from United fans, players and coaches alike as they claim a quite magnificent comeback 2-1 Manchester derby victory over City at the Etihad Stadium. City have dominated this fixture in recent times, and it appeared they would once again come out on top over this biggest rivals after Gvardiol nodded them in front. United rarely threatened until late on, but a moment of madness from Nunes allowed them back into the game. The former Wolves man first underhit a pass back to Ederson, and in his attempts to atone for his mistake, he brought down Amad, giving the referee no chance but to award United a spot-kick which Fernandes duly dispatched. Incredibly, things got even better for the visitors just moments later, Martinez lofting a pass over the top for Amad, who nipped the ball over Ederson before nudging home to spark bedlam from those in United red as they claim derby victory. The win takes United up to 12th, while City's woes continue as they remain nine points behind leaders Liverpool in fifth. Guardiola will be perplexed at his side's continued problems with just one win in 11 in all competitions, and they can have few complaints too, accumulating just 0.91 xG to United's 1.99 in this game. United will look to build on this stunning victory when they travel to take on Tottenham in the EFL Cup quarter-final on Thursday, while City will look to get back to winning ways when they visit Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday. That's all we have for you from the Etihad Stadium, so thanks for your company and goodbye!

Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:28City are pressing and probing, but time is very much not on their side. It's all hands to the pump for United.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:27Amid the chaos, the fourth official has added on five minutes of additional time. Can City find a leveller?
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:26Having scored a goal that surely wins this derby for United, Amad makes way for Lindelof as Amorim looks to see this game out.

Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:21PENALTY TO UNITED!!! WOW!!! What a mess this is from City and particularly Nunes, who badly underhits a pass back to Ederson. Amad nips in, and though his touch takes him wide, Nunes can't make up for his error, bringing the United man down with a very clumsy challenge and presenting United with a chance to level.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:18United have another chance as Mainoo gets on the end of Martinez's delivery from the left. However, the substitute just can't leap high enough to keep his header down, and it flies harmlessly over Ederson's crossbar.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:16City have conceded at least twice in seven of their last 11 Premier League games, as many times as they had in their previous 62 in the competition. You'd expect that somewhat shaky defence to come under some pressure in these next nine or so minutes.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:13Yoro also enters the fray for De Ligt.

Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:11Having just survived a scare, City go in search of a second goal that would likely kill this game off. Haaland lashes goalwards, but his effort is blocked behind for a corner.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:09GOLDEN CHANCE! A huge opportunity for the visitors to level goes begging as Fernandes shoots wide. The United captain beats the offside trap and latches onto Hojlund's throughball before dinking over Ederson, but unfortunately for United, the ball bounces wide of the left post. City hearts were in mouths there!
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:07Gvardiol has now scored more Premier League goals this season (four) than every other City player apart from Haaland (13).
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:05Twenty minutes remaining in this Manchester derby, and the hosts' lead remains a slender one. For as long as it's 1-0, United are very much in this contest.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:02Substitution Kevin De Bruyne Mateo Kovačić
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:02Space opens up for De Bruyne to lash goalwards, but his effort is always rising and flies comfortably over the crossbar.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
18:01United have grown into the game in the last couple of minutes, and Guardiola will be wanting his side to stem the turning tide. The next goal in this game will be absolutely pivotal.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:58United scream for a penalty as Dias sends Hojlund tumbling to the turf, though the referee waves away the protests, much to the visitors' frustrations.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:57SAVE! Fernandes floats a brilliant cross into the box, picking out Amad in far too much space from a City perspective. The winger manages to flick a header towards the bottom corner, but Ederson leaps acrobatically to his left to tip it wide for a corner. That's the closest United have come so far!
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:56Less than half an hour to play at the Etihad Stadium and United remain without a shot on target. If they are to get back into this game, they desperately need to muster more of an attacking threat.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:54Haaland tries to latch onto a ball over the top of the United defence, but it's out of his reach and bounces through to the waiting hands of Onana.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:52Both Haaland (six touches) and Hojlund (nine touches) failed to have a single touch in the opposition box in the first half of this match.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:50The quality isn't any better at the other end in truth. This time, Fernandes wildly sends a delivery flying into the City fans behind the goal.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:48Once again, City's quality of final ball is really poor and they don't take advantage of numbers in the box as De Bruyne's cross is hacked clear.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:47Only Wolves (nine) and Southampton (six) have conceded more goals from corners in the Premier League this season than United have under Amorim (four - excluding United's total of eight).
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:43The team leading at half-time has won 24 of the last 26 Premier League Manchester derbies, though City did come from 1-0 down to win 3-1 in the most recent in March 2024.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:39The visitors get the ball rolling again for the second period.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:25Despite his team leading, Guardiola looked frustrated during that first half. His team have lacked quality, though United have also looked far from threatening, with the visitors yet to have a shot on target and accumulating just 0.12 xG (expected goals) to City's 0.69.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:24The half-time whistle blows with City leading the Manchester derby 1-0 at the interval. Again, City have looked far from their best, though they take a slender advantage into the break thanks to Gvardiol's fantastic header after De Bruyne's deflected cross. It could have gotten better for City moments before the half-time whistle, though Foden's deflected effort went wide of the left post.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:22HALF-TIME: MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 MANCHESTER UNITED
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:21JUST WIDE! After good work from Doku down the left, the ball falls to Foden outside the box. He sells Ugarte with a dummy before firing goalwards, though a block from Maguire takes it just past the left post, with Onana also getting a hand to it.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:18We are into four minutes of additional time at the end of this first half.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:16Gvardiol has scored eight Premier League goals in 2024, more than any other defender in the competition this calendar year.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:15De Bruyne tries to catch out Onana with an audacious first-time chip, though he doesn't get it quite right and the United goalkeeper makes a comfortable save.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:11Yellow Card Kyle Andrew Walker
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:11There's a furious confrontation between the players as Hojlund and Walker clash. The City man tumbles to the turf as the two come together head to head, but it's unclear just how much contact there was.

Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:08United have lost each of their last three Premier League away games against City, conceding 13 goals in the process. They last lost four consecutive league visits to the Citizens between 1952 and 1955.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:06United are yet to have a touch in City's box, with Hojlund having just eight touches altogether, the fewest among the visiting players.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:05Half an hour gone in this Manchester derby and it remains a 0-0 stalemate. In truth, the scoring hasn't really looked troubled with the contest yet to have a shot on target. City have shaded it, but they still look far from their best.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
17:01Silva carries the ball deep into United territory, though eventually the visitors get the players across to snuff out the danger and scramble clear.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:59Dalot puts Amad through on goal, only for the winger to fire wide of the right post. Perhaps to his relief, the flag eventually goes up for offside and the 'goal' wouldn't have counted anyway.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:57Foden's effort in the 21st minute made this game the longest wait for a shot in a Premier League Manchester derby on record (since 2006-07), with the previous longest 12 minutes in October 2015.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:55City are starting to turn up the heat now with their more creative players getting on the ball more often. Foden in particular looks like he's starting to warm to the task.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:54The first shot of the game comes from Foden, but his ambitious dipping strike bounces a couple of yards wide of the right post. That was better from City, though.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:53City have won five of their last six Premier League games against United (one loss), more than they had in their previous 13.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:52Mount hasn't completed 90 minutes in a Premier League game since January 2023 for Chelsea against Crystal Palace. It's been a really rough start to life in Manchester for the 25-year-old.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:49It's been a really scrappy contest so far with challenges flying in everywhere and very little rhythm to the game. Neither side has settled into their full attacking flow yet.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:45Substitution Mason Tony Mount Kobbie Boateng Mainoo
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:45There's an early blow here for United as Mount drops to the turf in pain. It appears Amorim will be forced into a change here.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:43Ten minutes on the clock at the Etihad Stadium and we're yet to see a shot. It's a bit nervy, perhaps to be expected in a derby game and especially when considering the sides' patchy recent form.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:40United have named a different starting central defensive partnership in all five of their Premier League games under Amorim, having named just four different such partnerships in their first 11 games of the season (including 3 starting CBs). The trio has coped well so far, though we're still very early into the contest.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:38City have enjoyed the majority of the possession so far without troubling United's backline to this point. Amorim's men seem content to let the hosts have the ball in front of them.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:36City's average age of 28 years and 137 days in this game makes theirs the oldest average starting XI for either side in a Premier League Manchester derby since April 2017.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:32The hosts kick us off and we are under way at the Etihad Stadium!
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:32The two teams make their way onto the pitch ahead of the Manchester derby.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:28Amorim, meanwhile, names four alterations from the side that started the 2-1 Europa League victory at Viktoria Plzen in midweek, with Mount and Ugarte coming in as well as Maguire and Hojlund, the latter of whom came off the bench to net twice in the European win. Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are both notable absentees from the squad.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:28Guardiola makes two changes from the defeat in Turin, with Nunes replacing the suspended Rico Lewis on the left while Foden is preferred to Grealish. Haaland retains his place up top having registered nine goal involvements in just four Premier League appearances against United (six goals, three assists). It’s already the most goal involvements any City player has against the Red Devils in the competition.

Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:08Meanwhile, it's been a mixed start to life as Manchester United boss for Ruben Amorim since joining from Sporting, winning three, drawing one and losing two of his opening six games in charge. They currently sit a disappointing 13th in the Premier League, but this could be a good time to face their cross-city rivals, who have gotten the better of the Red Devils for much of the last decade.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
16:08Pep Guardiola has largely dominated English football since his arrival in Manchester in 2016, but a shockingly poor start to this season has led some to suggest the period of City supremacy is over. Guardiola's men have won just one of their last 10 in all competitions, leaving them fifth in the Premier League and nine points already off leaders Liverpool, while even their hopes of progressing to the next round of the Champions League look in doubt following a 2-0 defeat at Juventus in midweek.
