Roebuck, who has represented England 11 times and was part of the Euro 2022-winning squad, last played for City in May 2023. She disclosed that she suffered a left occipital infarct, a type of ischemic stroke caused by a blood clot blocking an artery in the brain. Fortunately, Roebuck mentioned that there is no lasting damage to her brain function or vision.

She stated, 'I feel like now is the right time to share what's been happening lately. Unfortunately, having not felt well for a little while, I had some tests and it was discovered that I had suffered a left occipital infarct. Thankfully, there is no lasting damage to my brain function or vision.'
